I have installed Joomla 4 on the Mamp local server, BUT I cannot seem to remove the :8888 from the url which is why (I think) it is actually accessing the site from /localhost/samp but under just /localhost. I think I'm making progress and wonder if I can trouble you once more as I cannot seem to find the info needed.
